All 9(a) Visa Applications must be lodged online at https://www.visa.gov.ph.

Prior to lodging your application, please read below instructions carefully:

  • Per the Philippines Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 168, s. 2022 dated 27 May 2022. Starting 30 May 2022, a pre-departure test (RT-PCR or antigen) is no longer required ONLY IF the passenger (Filipino or foreigner) 18 y.o. and above, is fully vaccinated AND has a booster shot. Otherwise, RT-PCR or antigen pre-departure test is needed.  
  • For children 12 to 17 years old, a pre-departure test (RT-PCR or antigen) is no longer required IF fully vaccinated. Children below 12 y.o. are exempted if accompanying parents are fully vaccinated with booster.
  • All official NATIONAL certificates of vaccination will be accepted.
  • The insurance requirement has been removed.  
  • The return tickets for foreign nationals is now based on their visa classification (if with visa, e.g. 59 days for 9a), or in accordance with visa-free entry rules (i.e., 30 days).

Applying for a Philippine visa will require that the applicant’s passport be valid for six (6) months beyond beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines. 

The Philippine Embassy will only accept electronic passports and machine readable passports for visa applications. Non-machine readable passports or hand-scripted passports will not be accepted for visa applications. The Visa Officer has the right to ask for any additional documents that may be deemed necessary.


I. Non-Immigrant Visas 

A. 9(a) Temporary Visitors Visa (TOURIST) – for visitors coming for business, pleasure, medical treatment, training, attendance in conferences, meetings and workshops/seminars.
 

1. Original passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;  

2. Police certificate (for travel abroad) duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of country of origin (or its equivalent), in original copy

3. Letter of invitation (if applicable), duly notarized and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines (if applicable)

4. Bank statement (6 months validity)

5. Employment certificate (6 months validity)

6. For businessman, company registration certificate with evidence of tax payment

7. Photocopy of passport data page

8. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster certificate/card; or yellow card issued by the World Health Organization (WHO)

9. Return flight booking reservation (do not confirm your flight ticket yet)

10. Hotel reservation (including hotel name and address) 

11. Travel itinerary detailing travel to the Philippines

* FOR VISITORS WHO WILL TAKE THE NCLEX:

1. Original passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines

2. Proof of NCLEX registration exam

3.Police clearance/certificate (for travel abroad use) duly authenticated by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

4.Letter of invitation (if applicable), duly notarized and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines.

5.Bank statement (6 months validity)

6.Employment certificate (6 months validity)

7.Photocopy of passport data page

8.Photocopy of Nursing License (present original copy)

9. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster certificate/card; or yellow card issued by the World Health Organization (WHO)

* FOR VISITORS WHO WILL JOIN THEIR FILIPINO SPOUSE:

1. Original passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines 

2. Police certificate (for travel abroad) duly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of country of origin, in original copy

 3.  If spouse is in Nigeria, a letter of endorsement if presently living in the same location

 4.  If spouse is in the Philippines, letter of invitation duly notarized and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines

 5.  Marriage certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines

 6.  Bank statement (6 months validity)

 7.  Employment certificate (6 months validity)

 8.  For businessman, company registration certificate with evidence of tax payment

 9.  Photocopy of passport data page of both husband and spouse

10. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster certificate/card; or yellow card issued by the World Health Organization (WHO)

11.  Return flight booking reservation (do not confirm your flight ticket yet)

B. 9(b) Transient Visa – for visitors passing in transit to a destination outside the Philippines.
 
Minimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form;
3. Proof of bona fide status as tourist or businessman; and
4. Confirmed tickets for return or onward journey to the next port of destination;
 

 
C. 9(c) Seamen and Crew Members Visa – for crew members of a vessel arriving at a port of the Philippines from any country.
 
Minimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form;
3. Duly Accomplished Crew List Visa form;
4. Letter from shipping company;
 

 
 
D. 9(d) International Treaty Traders and Treaty Investors Visa – for visitors entering the Philippines solely to carry on trade or commerce between the Philippines and the country to which he/she is a national pursuant to existing treaties of commerce and navigation.
 
Minimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form;
3. Applicant must be a national of the country in which the Philippines has existing treaties of trade, commerce, and navigation
 

 
E. 9(e) Foreign Government Officials Visa – for accredited officers of a foreign government recognized by the Philippines, who is a citizen of the country whose government he/she represents, and who is proceeding to the Philippines on official business for his/her government; and for officials of international non-governmental organizations.
 
Minimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form; and
3. Note Verbale from their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs
 

 
F. 9(f) Student Visa – for visitors eighteen (18) years old and above who intend to study bachelor’s degree or higher at a university, seminary, academy, college or school. Please note that the Embassy only issues entry visas (9a/Tourist) for those who wish to study in the Philippines. Upon arrival in the Philippines, the student must convert the visa to 9f.

1. Original passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines

2. Police clearance/certificate (for travel abroad use) duly authenticated by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

3. For newly enrolled students, a letter of admission from the school in the Philippines duly notarized and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines

4.For undergraduate students, a certificate of enrollment from the school duly notarized and authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines for the current academic session is required to finish their studies in the Philippines

5. Bank statement of the sponsor (valid for 6 months)

6. Sworn “Affidavit of Sponsorship” of the sponsor

7. Employment certificate of sponsor (if sponsor is a businessman, submit company registration certificate with evidence of tax payment)

8. School records of origin duly authenticated by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

9. Medical certificate duly authenticated by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

10. Birth certificate from the National Population Census Commission (NPCC) duly authenticated by the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

11. Photocopy of passport data page

12. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination and booster certificate/card; or yellow card issued by the World Health Organization (WHO)

13. Return flight booking reservation (do not confirm your flight ticket yet

14. Proof of accomodation in the Philippines

NOTE:

* For new studentsThe following documents (in original) have to be authenticated by the Philippine Embassy in Abuja. 

* For old students: There is no need to submit the following documents, but are required to submit the previous copies of the documents, for verification purposes.

1) Birth certificate
2) School records  
3) Bank statement/sponsorship letter
4) Medical certificate
5) Police clearance

The authentication fee for each document above is Naira 14,525.00.


 
G. 9(g) Pre-Arranged Employees Visa – for visitors proceeding to the Philippines who will engage in any lawful occupation.
 
Mimimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines;
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form;
3. Police Clearance;
4. Medical Health Certificate including standard-sized chest X-Ray;
5. Prior approval from DFA is required before the issuance of visa
 

 
H. 47(a)(2) Special Non-Immigrant Visa – for visitors proceeding to the Philippines under special laws.
 
Mimimum requirements:
1. Passport/Travel Document Valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines; and
2. Duly Accomplished Visa application form.
 

II. Immigrant Visas 

A. Quota Immigrant Visa – for foreign nationals who opt to reside permanently in the Philippines.
B. Non-Quota Immigrant Visas
 
1. 13(a) Visa – for wife or husband or unmarried minor children of Philippine Citizen.
2. 13(b) Visa – for child of foreign parents born during temporary visit abroad of permanent resident mother.
3. 13(c) Visa – for child born subsequent to the issuance of immigrant visa to accompanying parent.
4. 13(e) Visa – for returning permanent resident foreigners
5. 13(g) Visa – for returning natural-born Filipinos who were naturalized as citizens of foreign countries.
 
Minimum requirements for Immigrant Visas:
1. Official birth certificate or baptismal certificate;
2. Police Clearance;
3. Medical examination report/chest X-Ray film;
4. Evidence of financial support;
5. Valid passport;
6. Documentary proofs of his/her former Philippine citizenship and his present foreign citizenship (for 13(g) visa applicants only); and
7. Such other secondary evidence of citizenship and admissibility into the Philippines as may be required.
