The Philippine Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, hosted the first Overseas Mission and Orientation Seminar of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) at the Philippine chancery in Maitama District, Abuja, on 29 September 2024. A three-man team from PhilHealth traveled to Nigeria to conduct the activity that saw the processing of applications for PhilHealth membership, updating of records and distribution of PhilHealth membership cards, among others. The event, which was attended personally and virtually by members of the Filipino community in Nigeria and the 12 other countries under the embassy's jurisdiction, is in support of the thrust of the Philippine government in promoting its universal health care program for Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad.
