NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY 2025
The Philippine Ambassador of Nigeria on 11 January 2025 joined fellow members of the diplomatic corps in a solemn church service at the National Christian Center in Abuja, Nigeria, in observance of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day to honor the gallant sacrifices of Nigerian soldiers during the two (2) world wars and the Nigerian civil war and in safeguarding the country's sovereignty and independence.
Presentation of Credentials of Philippine Ambassador to Burkina Faso
The Honorable Mersole J. Mellejor presented his credentials as Philippine Ambassador to Burkina Faso to President Ibrahim Traore on 19 December 2024 at the Office of the President in the capital Ouagadougou. Burkina Faso is one of 13 countries under the concurrent jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Abuja (Nigeria). During the presentation, President Traore and Ambassador Mellejor discussed relations between the Philippines and Burkina Faso. The Ambassador also had an opportunity to meet with top Burkinabe officials and representatives of the Filipino community.
Lecture on Reintegration Program of the Diaspora
Ambassador Mersole J. Mellejor conducted a lecture on the Philippine Reintegration Program for the Diaspora on 11 December 2024. The lecture, held at the High Points Events and Conference Hall in Abuja, Nigeria, was in response to request by stakeholders in Nigeria to learn from the Philippine experience on the reintegration of returning migrant workers. The event was attended by Nigerian officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps, civil society and the academe.
